Google top 10 bifanas in Lisbon and you will probably not find this one on the list, which is a real travesty if you ask me!
Situated down a quiet dead-end alley just off the hustle and bustle of Mouraria, there's nothing but a tiny hand painted sign to attract your attention if you look down this shabby looking alley. What this hole in the wall joint lacks in polish and swank however, is more than made up for by the wonderfully tasty bifanas they serve at a very wallet friendly price. That there was a constant stream of locals dining shoulder to shoulder at the counter (though there are a few tables in an adjacent salon) is a testament in itself.
While there's not much separating all the bifanas we had (and we had a lot mind you), we unanimously agreed that this was our favorite. Can't quite put my finger on why that is other than to say it was definitely the 'juiciest'. The bottom half of the bun was almost soaked through with the pork drippings, like it had been dipped in the stewing pork itself to add extra panache in taste. The marinate is not overdone, letting the tenderness and natural flavors of the pork speak for itself. Sometimes, you just have to ignore Google ratings and just go with your nose and taste buds !- Tipo de refeição

Extremely good bifana and a beer at affordable prices. Just off Maritim Moniz square on a small side street this joint is unassuming with draft beer and bifanas. Two bifanas and a small draft beer totalled €6.50 on this day. Outstanding quality and value in this small stand up eatery.

We found this place by accident just following our noses, it smelt SO good! Man, we were surprised to find something so delicious and so cheap, we had to return. An old-time Lisbon resident showed me this place. It’s the best bifana I’ve had so far. Soft bread, soft marinated meat, great old school no nonsense vibe.
Best bifanas in Lisbon. Period. Whoever tries to convince you otherwise is a liar. Double period. They have other marvelous things as well. Probably one of the cheapest places to have a snack/meal.

Excelente para uma refeição rápida e económica, serviço ao balcão , tem das melhores bifanas de Lisboa , excelente choco frito . Uma casa á antiga que infelizmente já começam a ser raras em Lisboa . Atendimento simpático, só peca por as vezes ser mal frequentado, mas tirando esse “pequeno pormenor” é uma ótima opção .

Excellent for a quick and affordable meal, with counter service, some of the best bifanas in Lisbon, and excellent fried cuttlefish. It's an old-school restaurant that, unfortunately, is becoming rare in Lisbon. Friendly service, the only downside is that it's sometimes understaffed, but other than that "small detail," it's a great option.
